Testing with Us

Last Updated: 04/28/2023

What type of COVID-19 tests do we offer?

We offer the following nasopharyngeal tests only (no nasal or oral tests):
  • COVID-19 RT-PCR Send-Out Testing: This test will be sent to a laboratory
  • COVID-19 RT-PCR In-House Testing: This test is performed within our in-clinic laboratory (only certain insurances are accepted)
  • Rapid Antigen COVID-19 Testing: This test is performed within our in-clinic laboratory
Patients do not swab themselves. Trained medical laboratory personnel will swab patients of all ages.

When should I arrive?

Arrive between our hours of operation:
Monday-Friday: 8:00am-8:00pm
Saturday-Sunday: 9:00am-6:00pm

Results for the Send-Out COVID-19 testing will return within 24 hours through a password-protected email.

What is the process like for testing?

We are now accepting testing inside the clinic. Simply check in at the front desk to get started on paperwork!

Please be advised that the Temple Israel and Temple Beth-El locations are CLOSED, and no Emcura clinic performs curbside COVID-19 testing any longer. If you arrive at an Emcura clinic, testing is now done INSIDE the clinic.

Do I need to make an appointment?

No - Online booking is available but not required. Walk-In visits are welcome. Everything is completed in-clinic and administered on a "first-come, first-serve" basis. We do not prioritize who will be tested before others, so please plan accordingly!

When will I receive my results?

Results directly depend on the volume of patients, staffing, weather, and emergencies. Please be advised that results are not guaranteed to arrive at a specific time, and we can only give a timeline of when to receive results. We cannot give a specific time or day when the results will arrive.

We advise patients to be mindful of when to receive their tests.

Please allow:
  • 24-48 hours for COVID-19 RT-PCR Send-Out Tests
  • 1-6 hours for COVID-19 RT-PCR In-House Tests
  • 15 minutes to 1 hour for Rapid Antigen COVID-19 Tests

How will I receive my results?

Each test has a different way of receiving results:
  • COVID-19 RT-PCR Send-Out Test results will be sent to the provided email upon testing.
  • COVID-19 RT-PCR In-House Test results will need to be picked up by the patient once the results are finalized. We will call you once the results are ready. If you have an international phone number, we will give a more approximate wait time when you get tested so you can plan to pick up the results.
  • Rapid Antigen COVID-19 Test results will be given verbally over the phone or in person; however, paperwork is available upon request.
We cannot provide COVID-19 RT-PCR In-House results nor Rapid Antigen COVID-19 results over email. We do not have a medically-secure email, and we are not authorized to send results.

What is the "password" for my results?

The password will be the patient's birth year. For example, if the patient was born in 2004, the password will be "2004".

How much is testing?

Testing is billed as an urgent care office visit, thus you may be subjected to a co-payment at the time of the visit.

COVID-19 RT-PCR Send-Out and Rapid Antigen COVID-19 Tests will be run through insurance; therefore, payment depends on how much coverage is provided by the patient's specific insurance provider and plan. We cannot determine the exact specifics of how much coverage will be provided for each individual patient, so we advise you to contact your insurance provider with questions regarding insurance coverage. Typically, insurance will cover the COVID-19 testing if it is medically necessary (if you have symptoms and/or have had an exposure) and there is a co-pay that is paid at the end of the visit. Each patient's co-pay changes based on insurance plans and we check the co-pay in-clinic.

If you do not have insurance, we will run the RT-PCR test via In-House COVID-19 RT-PCR testing, which is $175.00

COVID-19 RT-PCR In-House Tests are $175.00 USD. Some insurances accept In-House Tests (inquire within).
COVID-19 + Flu A/B + RSV RT-PCR In-House Tests are $225.00 USD. Some insurances accept In-House Tests (inquire within).
Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Tests are $75.00 USD for those who cannot use insurance for the test (such as travel).

The forms of payment accepted are card and cash only (no checks).

Travel Testing

Travel testing is the responsibility of the patient.

Please be mindful that if the test you are receiving is:
  1. acceptable by the airline and place of travel (including within domestic travel)
  2. acceptable within the timeline of travel (most accept tests between 24-72 hours before travel)
  3. the correct requested type of COVID-19 test
Insurance coverage for travel/screening COVID-19 testing no longer applies. We do not accept traveler's/international insurance! Keep in mind that travel/screening testing is not a medical necessity. Please be advised that a payment is required for the test.

Please also keep in mind how you will receive your test.
Recall that the RT-PCR COVID-19 In-House and Rapid Antigen COVID-19 test results must be picked up by the patient - not emailed.
